Selling good quality Indian children’s books in India is very very hard. It’s hard across the world, but particularly hard in India because most customers (perhaps not you) don’t value it as much. They expect it at around Rs. 50 a piece, which is impossible to sell at, unless you are a large well funded nonprofit, i.e. Pratham Books.
Speaking of Pratham Books, their data suggests that book sales correspond to views on Storyweaver. This, sort of, implies that if you give the book out for free, more people tend to buy them. So, we’ve decided to put our faith in this hypothesis and give out one of our loveliest books – Ramu the Hero – out for free.
